‘I get great satisfaction from seeing the happy smiling faces of the children as they discover the joys of riding.
‘I lead the pony and ensure the safety of each child in my care. There may be lots of lessons to be learned for the children but as a volunteer I’ve discovered that I learn too! Starting out as a volunteer as a means of helping others less advantaged, my role has helped me put my life into perspective.
‘It has made me realize how lucky I am. I enjoy helping others who are less fortunate and seeing how they benefit from it. I would definitely recommend volunteering - give it a go, it can make you, and the people you are helping, feel really good.’
