Tadek Baran
Tadek was introduced to volunteering through his Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Team, at PwC, who encourage volunteering in the local community. As Family Nursing and Home Care is one of their affiliated charities, it seemed natural to help them by taking on high street volunteering.
A typical volunteering session involves promoting awareness and raising funds by manning a stall on the high street.
“It helps me engage with the community and with social causes I might not otherwise engage with”
Tadek doesn’t mind going the extra mile to get people’s attention and one of his finest and most memorable moments was when he dressed as a clown to promote awareness of the charity.
“I’m always surprised at how rewarding volunteering can be and that, contrary to belief, it is not time consuming at all!”
His brief and simple advice to anyone thinking about volunteering is … “Do it!”
