Camp Bosdet offers a developmental programme to young people, with The Bosdet Foundation covering the costs of employing and training students as staff for duration of the camp. The cyclical nature of the programme means that the Camp is always on the lookout for new recruits to replace those who have now spread their wings. In March ROK Construction volunteered to help prepare for Camp Bosdet by providing operators for machinery kindly supplied by 4Hire Jersey. By Easter the woodland was ready to welcome primary school children to play and discover nature in a safe environment.

A group of volunteers from EFLO (Education Fund For Luweero Orphans) have been hard at work this past month building fences for the Camp Bosdet Woodland Wonderland. Chairman Dick Richomme said, 'The primary objective of EFLO is to support the Sermon on the Mount School in Luweero and provide education facilities. Covid19 and lockdown prevented EFLO volunteers from fund raising and traveling to Uganda. 'In the absence of travel, were delighted to help the Bosdet Foundation with the woodland project. We share common goals and have been delighted to help.'

Alan Le Pavoux put out a call in the JEP for yet more volunteers to register with www.volunteer.je. By the end of 2020 the number of volunteers registered had topped 3,400. As we emerge into the 'new normal' volunteers are going to be needed across a wide variety of roles. Some volunteers have been registered for months without being matched to a suitable role and we thank you for your continued patience.
